USB Power Delivery (USB PD)
A fast-charging protocol that enables power delivery up to 240W over a single USB-C cable. LP-90 utilizes PD 3.1 to negotiate the optimal voltage and current for each connected device, ensuring safe and efficient energy transfer.
GaN (Gallium Nitride)
A wide-bandgap semiconductor material that replaces silicon in modern power conversion. GaN features a bandgap of 3.4 eV (vs silicon’s 1.1 eV), allowing for higher switching frequencies, lower heat generation, and a significant reduction in physical footprint.
Power Density
The ratio of power output (Watts) to the physical volume of the device (Cubic Inches). Power density is a benchmark for engineering efficiency; LP-90’s density of 33.8 W/in³ is currently among the highest in its class.
PPS (Programmable Power Supply)
A feature of the USB-C PD standard that allows the charger to adjust voltage in tiny increments (20mV) and current (50mA) in real-time. PPS reduces conversion losses within the device being charged, minimizing heat during fast-charging sessions.
Ripple Voltage
The residual periodic variation of the DC output of a power supply which has been derived from an AC source. Lower ripple voltage correlates to higher component longevity for the device being charged. LP-90 is engineered for ultra-low ripple performance.
